Sheer quantity of non-repeating images

Fresh new content is what makes a
member stay at a site longer. Hopefully some of the lesser quality images
fade away. |
This is pretty simple. Is there a
good navigation system being used? Does the user have to do a lot of scrolling?
Are the different sections of the site clearly marked? Color scheme? |

Slow

This has to be the most annoying practice
ever. Especially to a paying member. Big deduction. |
When an link or thumbnail is clicked
on and the image or movie can't be found. |
The speed at which the hosting server
is rated at. Causes can be too many people on at the same time; Faulty equipment;
Bandwidth usage and/or Routine maintenance. Not all servers are created equal.
A serious adult site provider will have and maintain their own servers. |

Thumbnails need to be large and clear
enough for the user to select the images they are interested in. Small blurry
pics make the viewing experience disapointing. If you can't tell what the
image is from the thumbnail, it is too small. If the image is large, a smaller
portion should be used. Also, too much of a good thing can spoil the fun...
|
If it's not an Anime or Cartoon image,
a GIF image should never be used. The popular Jpeg image also has it drawbacks.
Each time a Jpeg is saved, the image colors are remapped causing the picture
to rapidly lose clarity. Hopefully, more sites will begin using the non-dithering
PNG format in the future. Images captured from a cheap camera or worse yet,
a camera phone are not quality. |
Typical Mpegs are 320 by 240 pixels.
More coming soon... |
Special note reguarding thumbnail
images: The whole point of thumbnail images is for the user to preview
an image before opening it. This was especially true in the early BBS (Bulletin
Board Service) days when it took on the average of two minutes to view one
picture. As far as I know, I was the first one to begin creating thumbnails
of the images on my friends BBS in Sanford Florida in the winter of '91.
They were terrible 16 color one inch square reductions of bit map images.
I am so glad it caught on and someone better then myself started doing
it. |

Blurred, Pixelized or simply blacked
out portions of images. This is most definatley censorship. Paying members
of a site should never see censored images. See also, 'No penetration'. |
There are some hosting sites that
don't allow images showing penetration. You have probably seen images on
these sites and perhaps you didn't notice. X-site rates these sites as only
'X' rated and not hardcore or 'XXX'. |
Some adult sites place their logo
or copyright on an image. This is known as a watermark and is alright if
it does not obscure the focus of the image. |

Typical image size should be roughly
the 640x480 or 800x600 pixel format. |
Images that appear multiple times
on a single site. It is difficult, if not impossible, not to have a few images
that appear in other directories or sections. |
Image files that don't load fully
or have portions missing (usually the lower half). |

Access to other
adult sites: |
Adult sites pass the cost of aquiring
new images to the members. And of course as with any business, the company
wants to make a profit. However, some sites are charging too much for their
services. High end or exclusive photos cost more to get and high priced sites
should have good quality images and movies for their members. |
In general, how the adult site handles
the member services. Can you purchase your subscription with cash, check
or credit card only. How easy is it to cancel your subscription. If you
experience a problem or discrepency, how easily can you report the problem.
How soon can you expect a problem with your account to be resolved. Basic
customer service issues. |
Some adult sites offer access to other
sites as well as the one you signed up for. The additional sites are often
owned by the same company or individual but has a different theme or
genre. |

Offer one price but bill your credit

Even though some sites say in their
'Terms' they can sell or give away your personal infomation (email address,
phone number, etc.) does not make it right. If you are a paying customer,
your personal information should always be secure and protected. |
Every adult site should have at the
very least a tech support form or email address. |
